4th of July

For the 4th, the girls and I went up to Kalispell to spend the day with Grandpa Bruce (Ross' Dad) and Grandma Benni.  We went to a parade in the morning on Maine Street.

The girls watching the 4th of July parade.

After the parade we went out on the lake in Grandpa Bruce and Grandma Benni's boat.

The girls enjoying the boat ride with their Grandparents.

We had gone quite a ways down the lake and then stopped for a bit, but when we started going again the boat suddenly died.  It did run again but not on all cylinders and then it completely died, so we were floating out in the lake for a bit until Grandpa Bruce waved over a jet skiier.  He went and got his friends who had a boat.  They had to tow us all the way back to the dock, which was quite a ways.  And that was the end of our boat ride!  We were very thankful for these guys who helped, but I don't even think we got their names!

We then decided to take a swim back at a picnic area by the launching place.  The girls enjoyed the swim and the lake was actually quite warm for this time of year.

Mackenzie is usually the first one to get cold.
Must be because she is so skinny! :)

Marina and Grandpa Bruce, enjoying the water.

There were caterpillars all over the trees where we were swimming.
Marina was very sad when she had to leave her little friend behind.
That is just what she called it "My Little Friend"

Aubrey loves the water and didn't want to get out.

We came home, had some dinner and lit off some fireworks.

We missed having Daddy around, so I thought I would take this picture of Marina's shirt
that reminds us of how awesome Daddy is!  He ROCKS!  We miss you, Ross!

Eventhough the day didn't turn out quite like we had expected, we still had fun.  Thanks for the great day in the sun with us, Grandpa Bruce and Grandma Benni!
