A New Adventure - BLOGGING!

Wow, we finally started a blog! I had several requests to start a blog last year, but with home-school, moving to the bush, reaching out to others, and adjusting to life here, I honestly felt overwhelmed. There is still a lot to do but we thought blogging would be a great way to let everyone know what we are up to. I could not decide on a name for our blog, otherwise we would have started earlier. Ross helped me come up with this name and I think it is quite fitting to our life. To us it is our every day life (especially when you are married to Ross Tulloch), but to a lot of people it is a huge adventure, and some wonder why in the world we live here! My hope is to show you why we live here (the good and bad) and to give you a glimpse of what our family is up to.

Just a simple post tonight to get started. We have started a new tradition at our dinner table. The girls love it! In fact, Aubrey reminds us if we forget. Since the girls are in public school this year, I don't get to talk to them all day long. I wanted to make sure to leave time in the day for them to express how their day was and to open up communication between us. I found something that helps us start out the conversation at the dinner table and then the communication opens up from there. I found this article by powerofmoms.com and printed it off to hang by our table. Click here to check it out. The article gives great ideas and at the bottom has the conversation starters to download and print off. Our question tonight was...

If you had to move and could take only three things with you, what would you take?

Our girls made us laugh with their answers so I thought I would share them!

Aubrey - Hair ties, brush, and clothes

Mackenzie - Two hair ties, comb, and a gun(in case I see any animals)

Marina - A little chair, a little boat (at which point Mackenzie adds in case we need to go down the river), some food, and a shovel to dig for carrots (Aubrey adds for wild carrots, if they are even real), and a paper towel. Yes she definitely mentioned more than three!

Wendy - Bible, family pictures, and warm clothes

Ross - Hard Drive with all our pictures and information, suit case with clothes and rain gear, and money

Just thought you might get a laugh out of the girls' answers and that we might encourage you to enjoy dinner together! In future posts, I will let you know about our trip up the Alcan Highway and how settling back into Galena life has been. Please bear with me as I have a lot of posts to catch you up on life!

Have a great night!
Wendy
